We were looking for a quick bite in Springfield one night so we dropped into the Kona Cafe for some dinner. It was around closing time, but the owner made us feel at home and served us even though we were the only diners in the restaurant. We were unimpressed by the selection of entrees, but the owner told us that he was planning to add some new items to the menu. Our party all had the chicken, which came with the usual Hawaiian accompaniments of rice and macaroni salad. The chicken was a little dry and lacked flavor. Having lived in Hawaii for several years, we were expecting something a little more authentic than the victuals offered here.
